Federal workers are facing unprecedented intimidation and pressure to quit.

Our support is their lifeline.

  • Federal workers need our help.

Federal employees work hard. They’ve dedicated their careers to serving us.

Yet, they are facing unprecedented intimidation and pressure to quit. They are being fired without cause. Union agreements are being illegally gnored. More mass layoffs are in the works.

The Trump Administration’s current assault on the federal workforce is a threat to democracy, labor rights, and the livelihoods of public servants and their families. We will all suffer from a weakened civil service.

The Truth About Federal Workers

What do federal workers do?

Federal workers provide countless services to the American public. They deliver the mail, write Social Security checks, protect our air and water, safeguard public health, feed hungry children, aid in recovery from disasters, ensure nuclear safety, provide air traffic control, fight forest fires, support farmers, conduct cutting-edge medical research, issue weather alerts, and protect consumers from fraud and abuse, just to name a few key services.

Their services are deemed so essential that they are prohibited from striking. Even during a government shutdown, many federal employees are deemed essential and required to work without pay.

Is the Federal workforce too big? Is it bloated?

No. The Federal government is roughly the same size as it was during the Lyndon Johnson Administration in the 1960s, despite an increase of around 200 million people in the U.S. population since then. The responsibilities placed on the Federal government have also increased dramatically in that time. Do most federal workers work from home full time?

Less than 10% of the Federal workforce is full-time remote, compared to about 28% in the private sector. One million Federal employees (43%) work entirely in-person due to the nature of their jobs. The majority of federal working hours are spent at an in-person workspace.
